Praise for this book
I've been an avid reader all of my life and when I received my Kindle as a gift, it opened up a whole new world to me. I first sought out books that were free up to 99cents and the genre that was most shown were books filled with magic, sorcery, knights etc. This genre happened to be one of my favorites so I started reading anything I could get my hands on. After reading over 300 books, I came across Blood and Steel, the first in the series and was immediately drawn in to a wonderful story. I got Fire and Steel and the magic of the story was still very much alive.
If I get a book that draws me in and captivates me from start to finish, I'm a thrilled reader. Fire and Steel delivered all the magic for me and once again I was sucked into the world of Cor and his friends. I Love the evolution of the characters and development of the story over time. Some Authors feel they have to tell you everything at once to keep you interested but this is not the case for me. A slow progression without becoming boring and repetitive is the best way to keep a reader interested.
Descriptions of people and events are drawn so the reader feels they can actually see what's being described and this is what I love. The feeling of being hidden away in a tree or above a cliff and watching what unfolds, feeling I am there and knowing when to shout "look out!", "get down!", "run!", "turn around dammit!", these are feelings that come with being so enthralled with the story, you feel you are actually there in it yourself. These are my kind of books. These are the best kind of books. Pull me in, make me love/hate certain characters, make me want more and you'll have a fan for life.
This author has definitely delivered a wonderful story and it's the type I don't want to see end anytime soon. Keep up the great work. I look forward to reading more.
